Terms and refunds
These terms cover your use of Crowned at crownedawards.com. By creating an event or voting in one, you agree to them. Questions go to support@crownedawards.com.
What Crowned does
Crowned runs superlative award nights. An organizer creates an event and picks categories. Guests join with their name and vote on their own phone, and the organizer reveals the winners on a shared screen. Winners can save an image card, and Event Pass holders can print certificates.
Organizers
- You're responsible for your event: its name, its categories, the names you add, and the guest reasons you approve for display.
- Only add the names of people who are taking part, and keep categories good-natured. The Office pack is written to be safe for work; categories you write yourself are your call.
- Your organizer link is the only way to manage your event. There's no account and no password, so keep the link private. We can't recover an event whose link you've lost, but we can delete it if you email us its event code.
Guests
Use your own name, vote once per category, and keep reasons kind. Don't post anything hateful, harassing, sexual, or anything that shares someone's private information. Reasons only appear after the organizer approves them.
Content we remove
We may delete an event, or anything in it, that breaks these terms, or that is used to target or embarrass someone.
Payments
- Crowned is free for events of up to 10 voters and 5 categories.
- The Event Pass is a one-time payment of $29 (US dollars) for a single event. It raises that event's limits to 300 voters and 30 categories and adds printable certificates. It is not a subscription and never renews.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Prices can change, but a change never affects a pass you've already bought.
Refunds
If Crowned didn't work for your event, or you bought a pass you didn't use, email support@crownedawards.com within 14 days of buying it, with your event code. We'll refund the Event Pass in full to the card you paid with. Refunds usually show up within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
How long events last
Events are deleted automatically 90 days after they're created, with every name, vote and reason in them. Save any winner cards you want to keep before then. An organizer can delete an event sooner from the organizer page.
The service itself
We work to keep Crowned running, but it's provided as is, without guarantees that it will be available at any particular moment or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with Crowned is limited to the amount you paid us for the event in question.
Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Changes apply to events created after that date.
